A Very Conspiracy Halloween

Last Saturday, I hosted a kick-ass Halloween party, if I do say so myself. Part of what made it so great was the costumes, and among the best costumes were sax-man Trent, and trumpeter Tom. Check out the pic!

The Other Bird

Man, I do love YouTube. It's such a cool tool for hearing great jazz music. While trolling the site today I ran across a virtuosic performance by one of the art form's greatest sax players. His style is unforgettable. His sound is unique. His talent is boundless. And he can fly. Really.

Holland Daze

Wow. That pretty much sums up what the Conspiracy has to say about the Dave Holland Quintet. The group took Chicago by storm this week and, man, what a show. I caught the 4pm matinee Sunday with my 5-year old daughter CJ (she loved it, too, especially the vibes). We were among the many Holland fans packed into the Jazz Showcase digging the sounds of this subtle group.
